Jane Greer Interiors
Another successful business start up website.
Launching a new venture can be a costly exercise and it’s always difficult when it comes to the marketing of the business and getting your service or product noticed.
We all want customers and it’s frustrating needing to pay in order to get them. But with competition from other businesses vying for top spot, it’s a fact we all must deal with none the less.
Jane had been running her business successfully for many years, never having the need for a website to generate new customers but was looking for a push to promote her services a little more.
Experienced in the industry, but not so much in the digital world, Jane wanted to feel assured in choosing the right way to gain more customers and the right company in which to invest her money. Especially as there are so many options out there – Which one was the best? Who would she feel most comfortable with?
Our business startup website platform allowed Jane to have a bespoke built WordPress website at a fraction of the market cost.
Meeting with Jane, we learned more about her business, how she worked, where her strengths lay and particularly who her ideal customers would be. She wanted to promote her expertise and grow her customer base over a reasonably local area.
Our job was to present a professional business, a trust in the company, a comfortable user experience, in being able to find the service quickly and most importantly to encourage emails or calls.
Starting with her brand – an old letterhead, we took the colours and recreated Jane’s logo into digital format. Giving it a little modernisation as we went.
Because Janes business was going into people’s homes, and the need for trust, we wanted to showcase as much as we could for an instant view on her work as well as meeting Jane herself.
We needed Janes back story, who she was and how she could benefit her new potential customers.
We wanted to show the many manufacturers she worked with, who customers would instantly recognise, and the fantastic services she offered.
Our aim was to demonstrate Janes long experience in the industry, displayed proudly in the sliding banner the many years Jane has been working and the established date for the business.
Subtle triggers and presenting them in multiple ways is always a good way to get your message across. In fact, the message is much the same throughout the website, displayed in Call to actions, in bullet points, page headers, within the text itself, in the sliding banners and in the menu.
The goal with any user experience is to allow the user to get to the information they want, but you must control how they get there – and make it as easy as possible.
Ensure little negativity– answer the questions before they’re raised.
What do you do, who are you, how do you do it and why should I use you?
This is all achieved multiple times within the areas we have on the website. Banners, menus, headings, sliders, call to actions, well presented content, including the text itself, testimonial quotes and FAQ’s.
The service is soft furnishings but break it down into the different areas offered. The client is only interested in what they want, they don’t want to read a book – so don’t bury it away.
Answer the question as quick as you can and encourage them to call (telephone number everywhere) or mail (email address to hand and a contact form on every page).
A website needs to look good, but it’s not a work of art. Its purpose is to encourage a response. Make sure it does that for you.
