Magpie Catering are an established business offering a host of catering services for a variety of corporate and private events. They approached us wanting a new website for their business as they felt their publicity didn’t represent the quality they deliver. Our design needed to be visually stimulating, easy to use and to attract new clients.

The design gives instant access to ‘menus’ and ‘events’ without the need for any searching. The images are clear and, being food, enticing. These immediate search functions mean the visitor has all the information they need on first arrival, and (with limited patience any user has on visiting a new site) this beats the most important hurdle a website can face and keeps them on Magpie’s website to find out more.

An overall friendly feel was important, as the nature of the business is personal, so the visitor needs to get to know and trust Magpie with their important event. Along with soft colours and clean (white) feel to the site, we incorporated a meet the team page, regular news items, case studies and testimonials, to show how good their service could be.

The upshot of our work has meant an increase in business for Magpie Catering and the honour of Finalist in the 2010 Business Awards for ‘Business Website of the Year’ in Harlow & District.

We also designed and supplied business cards, flyers and presentation folders to follow through the corporate branding we had produced.
