SEO - The organic way

Website optimisation (SEO, search engine optimisation or web optimization) is a process to improve a website's rankings within the ‘free and natural’ organic listings of Search Engines, such as Google, Yahoo & MSN.

A lot of people ask us why they should bother with SEO. Understandable; it almost feels like you’re paying for air, as you don’t physically have something in your hand for your money.

To be honest it’s difficult to convince without results (the wonderful benefit of hindsight), but it’s a fundamental part of allowing your website to work for you.

It does take time to build your websites presence within the search engine listings. To witness your competition in your marketplace, you only have to type in a search phrase to see the vast amount of results it gives you back; pages and pages of websites vying for your potential client’s trade.

How then have these other websites, your competition, got to the first page?

The answer is by having a proper SEO campaign. It ensures you are at the forefront of all this competition 24hrs a day and in a position to get the people you want looking at your products or services.

Remember, you’ve paid to have a website designed to generate more interest from your market, but if people can’t find the website in the first place, then it’s almost a pointless exercise.

We offer cost effective organic optimisation to new and existing clients to achieve long-term high ranking listings within the 'free & natural' section of the search engines.

SEO - By pay per click (Instant results for your websites search engine presence)

Pay per Click brings you results straight away, so you can see what you are getting for your money. It is probably similar to the way you are used to dealing with promotion as you see an actual advert before your eyes; a more conventional way of search engine promotion if you like.

How it works…

A campaign is set up with a series of adverts to appear as and when your market searches for a relevant phrase to your business. On Google, the adverts are seen at the top of the organic listings or down the right hand side of the screen.

Once the advert appears, the prospective client then clicks on it and is directed to a page on your website (known as a landing page). It’s then down to your site design to win the clients’ confidence.

Costs…

You set a monthly budget and once this budget is reached through the various clicks onto your adverts, the campaign stops until the next calendar month. Each advert is allocated a PPC rate (pay per click) which is established by the market itself and how competitive it is. As an example; your monthly budget is £100, your PPC rate is 10p per click, You can have 1000 clicks on your advert before your budget is reached. The joy of Adwords is that you can manage it yourself by changing the budget and pausing the account (for example if you go on holiday, or you have enough orders for the time being; you pause the account until you are ready for it to start again).

The campaign comes with analytics showing statistics such as how many hits(or clicks) you are getting on your adverts, what time of the day they are and what pages are being visited (through landing pages) on your website, plus lots more.

For anybody selling through an e-commerce website; we highly recommend they run an Adwords campaign alongside their SEO campaign to get the best return.
