Why use a web designer? 1 of 6

Building a website ‘that works’ is paramount when approaching any new design. You need to understand the audience, get the right message across and achieve the desired response. - And all that in a moments glance – easy eh!

Unfortunately the easiest part is getting it wrong; marching down a road where it’s all about how it looks, or cramming as much information as possible into a never-ending scrollable page to try and convince the user/viewer you are the people to trust.

If a website is not thought out carefully and with reason, it simply won’t work.

There are so many hidden aspects to the correct workings of a website that get forgotten or missed. These are fundamental issues that will stop your website achieving your desired goals.

Is it selling a product? Raising donations? Attracting clients, visitors or guests? Is it a shop front simply there to have a web presence? What have you put in place to get a response?

Your website needs to have a reason or there’s no point to it. It has to have a clear idea what it has to do and what the goals are. Every website must have a structure.

Any good website design company will ask for an insight to your business or organisation. This is to ensure they understand what message is to be portrayed, how it is received and to guarantee you achieve the best results. The beginnings of your website will be built on a foundation that strengthens your portfolio or cause.

Each page needs to be designed to ensure the end user/viewer responds in the way you need them to respond – by picking up the phone and calling, applying for the job, buying the product or booking the room. The pages then need to be put together in an understandable and concise way with no ‘noise’ (or waffle) to take away from the task in hand; i.e. the message you want to say if you were face to face with your customer.
